Espaso Verde is an award winning landscape design company operated by Charlotte and Jason. They have been designing and installing gardens in Hawke’s Bay for over 15 years. Together with their amazing team they are passionate about bringing creative and functional gardens to life.
Charlotte is Espaso Verde’s principle designer. Charlotte studied Landscape Design and Construction at the Waikato Institute of Technology based at The Hamilton Botanical Gardens. Charlotte has 18 years’ experience in the landscape industry designing, maintaining and installing gardens.
Much of Charlotte’s inspiration comes from nature and growing up in the country, alongside her travels visiting beautiful, natural landscapes and gardens around the world. She combines this backdrop with her love of plants, nature, colour and design to create innovative and inspiring settings. Charlotte’s passion for plants and attention to detail forms the base of her unique style.
Charlotte comes from a family of talented gardeners and grew up talking green. She has done the hard graft installing gardens as well as the mindful design work – it’s part of the reason why she is so successful in creating gardens for others.

Jason is Espaso Verde’s Construction Manager and Principal Estimator. He oversees the construction details and costings of each project pulling together the design and the customers budgets.
Jason has extensive experience in landscape construction and problem solving, creating cost effective and practical solutions onsite. His excellent knowledge in all areas of Landscape Construction means he knows how to get the best out of a landscape. He and Charlotte have worked together at Espaso Verde since 2006 and in that time they have combined their skills and knowledge to create beautiful gardens.

Lucy is Charlotte and Jason’s Personal Assistant and our Office Manager. She coordinates all appointments, liaises with clients, prepares contracts, organises the project set ups, office administration, and Health & Safety management.
Lucy has over 25 years’ experience in office management, administration, advertising, marketing, customer service, sales and health & safety management across a wide range of industries and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. Lucy is who you will speak with regarding your project on many occasions during the process.

Archie has been a key team member and Designer at Espaso Verde for nine years. Archie brings her love for nature, plants and art together. Archie studied at the Waikato Institute of Technology (WINTEC) completing a Landscape Design Diploma. Archie is our CAD specialist, with an extensive knowledge in Vectorworks and computers. She is also our plant sourcing expert. She is very tech savvy, and her problem-solving skills make her an invaluable asset to our team. She draws inspiration from modern landscape designers as well as historical designers and world-renowned gardens. Archie is a people person, and she always goes above and beyond for our clients. She values the environment, education, and community.
Environmentally friendly and community-orientated design is a core part of our design values. She is based at our Waikato branch and is involved in both our Hawke’s Bay and Waikato projects.

With over seven years of experience in Landscape Architecture, featuring both architectural elements and a strong focus on sensory plant selection, her keen eye for detail and precision has enabled her to work alongside one of Melbourne’s most renowned landscape and horticulture firms. On top of Sandara’s Landscape Architect Degree, she decided to broaden her skills by also completing studies in Landscape Design. Her work is rooted in the connection of people, places and nature and she has a strong interest in environmental planning and sustainability.
Sandara brings a strong knowledge in architecture and combines this with a fresh view on planting design and permaculture techniques. She has strong skills in design development, documentation and graphic presentation.

Georgia has had experience installing and maintaining gardens in the landscape industry and was a valuable team member of our Construction team prior to joining our Design team in 2021 after completing a Diploma in Landscape Design.
Georgia has a sound knowledge of working on construction sites, which gives her additional skills in the design field. She has excellent plant knowledge and strong design drafting skills, and a love for design and the outdoors. Georgia’s role is to work with the Design team developing and drafting the plans from start to finish and collating the design details. We know she has a great future ahead of her.

Anneke has been with Espaso Verde since early 2020 and has brought with her plenty of experience in office management and administration. Her experience is extremely varied which has brought a wealth of knowledge to the business and towards improving our systems, accounts and staff management.
Anneke has previously worked installing gardens and is currently training to complete a Diploma in Landscape design and is now assisting our Designers with the design process and with her strong plant and product knowledge she works to secure key products and plants for our construction projects.

Joella is our Garden Maintenance Manager and is also responsible for processing accounts, and provides office administration support.
With over 8 years garden maintenance experience for Espaso Verde and a background in horticulture, Joella has a combination of landscape installation, maintenance and administration experience. Joella has a keen eye for detail and is passionate about gardens. Her tasks include the scheduling and management of the Garden Maintenance team, liaising with clients, daily accounts processing and administration support.

Greg has been working with Jason and Charlotte at Espaso Verde since its inception. He is a talented craftsman with an eye for detail. Greg has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all areas of landscape construction specialising in masonry.
After over 18 years of managing our Construction teams out in the field, Greg has transferred into the office and is now our Construction Project Manager/Pricing Coordinator. His tasks involve managing our construction projects, providing construction detailing, pricing, and specifications for the design team.
