Site Foreman/Team Leader – landscape construction
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Foreman/Team Leader in Landscape Construction who will be responsible for overseeing the construction of various outdoor projects, ranging from parks and gardens to commercial and residential properties. The ideal candidate should have previous hands-on landscaping or construction experience and demonstrate a clear and concise understanding of heights, levels, and site excavations/preparations.
The main responsibilities of the role include managing and supervising a team, planning and coordinating landscape construction projects, ensuring safety regulations are followed, overseeing the construction of hardscape features, liaising with designers/operations managers, ensuring high-quality work, and maintaining schedules and logistics.
The successful candidate should have a passion for working outdoors, physical fitness, a driver’s license, and experience with managing site material schedules and purchase orders, recording daily site activity, and undertaking landscape labouring work.
Description
- Previous hands-on Landscaping or Construction experience is essential
- Demonstrate a clear and concise understanding of heights, levels and site excavations/preparations
- Be able to manage and supervise a team, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and support
- Planning and coordinating landscape construction projects, managing on site schedules and logistics including maintaining project timelines and meeting budgets.
- Ensuring that construction work is completed safely, following all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Overseeing the construction of hardscape features such as paving, foundations, retaining walls, decks, Timber structures, masonry, concrete and all other Landscape features.
- Monitoring and managing any subcontractors who may be involved in the construction process.
- Liaise with Designers/Operations manager for daily project planning during and prior to a project starting
- Ensuring that all work meets high standards of quality and that clients are satisfied with the completed project.

- Managing on-site work scheduling and logistics
- Recording daily site activity
- Assisting with quantifying works completed for monthly payment claims
- Undertaking landscape labouring work
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Landscape Construction and preferably 1 in a a leadership role.
Knowledge of hard landscape techniques, equipment, and materials, council requirements and building code for Hard Landscape works. - Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of landscapers
- Ability to read, interpret and follow landscape plans and specifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with project managers, designers, clients, and team members
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to landscaping work
- Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment
- Full driver’s license
